Delhi: Social media Twitter was abuzz with activity with a record number of tweets pouring in on February 7. Delhi Assembly elections ruled Twitter with # Delhi Votes as the top trending hashtag during the day along with #ExitPolls and #MufflermanReturns. The social networking site was widely used by political parties, celebrities and the public at large to talk about the much hyped Delhi polls.
First time young voters shared their excitement posting inked selfies which were clearly the craze of the day.
A total of 163,901 tweets were recorded on the site on the election day.
