Bill proposing 5 percent quota to gujjars, SBC sent to Rajasthan Governor

Rajasthan Government has forwarded a bill proposing five per cent reservation to gujjars and other communities under SBC to the Governor.

Jaipur: Rajasthan Government has forwarded a bill proposing five per cent reservation to gujjars and other communities under Special Backward Class (SBC) to the Governor for his consent.

Parliamentary Affairs minister Rajendra Rathore said yesterday that the SBC class will get benefit of the proposed reservation after the bill is accorded consent by the Governor.

Rajasthan Legislative assembly had on the last day of monsoon session on September 22 passed the 'Rajasthan Special Backward Classes (Reservation of Seats in Educational Institutions in the State and of Appointments and Posts in Services Under the state)?Bill?2015.

It proposes five per cent reservation to five communities namely Banjara, Gadiya Lohar, Gujar, Raika and Gadariya.
