Aditya Prasad Padhi appointed new Odisha Chief Secretary

Padhi is presently working as Additional Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister.

Bhubaneswar: Odisha government on Saturday night named senior IAS officer Aditya Prasad Padhi as the new Chief Secretary in important bureaucratic reshuffle.

A notification issued by the general administration department said Padhi, a 1983 batch officer, would formally take charge from incumbent Chief Secretary GC Pati who retires on November 30.

Padhi is presently working as Additional Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister.

"I am very happy over the development. Like all officers, I too had a desire to reach the top post. I will try to do justice to the post," Padhi told reporters.

Development Commissioner UN Behera has been appointed as the new Additional Chief Secretary to Chief Minister in place of Padhi.

1984-batch officer R Balakrishnan, working as the Additional Chief Secretary, Finance, has been appointed as the new Development Commissioner in place of Behera.

1986-batch officer Vishal Dev has been appointed as the new Special Secretary, Finance, the notification said.
