Shillong: At least 10 persons have died and 21 others were injured when a bus fell into a deep gorge in Meghalaya's East Jaintia Hills District early on Tuesday.
The bus was travelling from Guwahati to Hailakandi when it fell into the nearly 100-feet deep gorge at Tongseng village near Sonapur around 1. 30 a.m., police said
Police said that the injured wereinitially admitted to the Khliehriat Community Health Centre (CHC) and then referred to hospitals in Jowai and Shillong.
The dead are yet to be identified and handed over to their respective families for last rites.
