Washington: Twitter is apparently using its push notifications to highlight what a user`s friend is watching on the television.
Former Foursquare product head Alex Rainert came across Twitter`s notification telling him that two of his friends were talking about `Grey`s Anatomy`.
The microblogging site went public in the last month and appears to be particularly interested in TV and has been experimenting with different ways of telling users what people are discussing about television shows on Twitter.
According to the report, the site recently refreshed its features to show up more interesting stuff like Event Parrot for breaking news and Magic Recs for people a user`s friends are paying attention to along with suggestions about whom can one follow.
While some users might be interested to know what their pals are talking about or following on the site, other would not be really keen to know such details and the move could be crucial for the new users who would still require assistance in exploring the site.
