Ghaziabad: A mini truck laden with explosive substances was seized by the Ghazibad police late Friday evening and the driver arrested.
According to police, the mini truck laden with explosives was passing through Farooq Nagar area of Sahibabad around 9 p.m. The Sahibabad police who were tipped off, made the vehicle halt during checking at Farooq Nagar.
During checking, the police found it was loaded with highly explosive materials like potash, gun powder, barium and other substances.
The driver - Netra Pal, a resident of Babu Garh, was arrested. During interrogation, he told the police that he was coming from Murad Nagar to Farooq Nagar.
Senior police officials including SP (City) Rahul Yaduvendu, reached the spot.
"We are questioning the driver in the case. We are trying to know the objective of transporting these substances and the source from where he procured it," an official of Sahibabad police station said.
