New Delhi: Amid no official word as to when a Deputy Speaker will be in place, Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan on Monday announced a ten-member Panel of Chairpersons.
The members are Arjun Charan Sethi (BJD), M Thambidurai (AIADMK), KV Thomas (Cong), Anandrao Adsul (SS), Hukm Deo Narayan Yadav, Prahlad Joshi, Hukum Singh and Ramen Deka (all BJP), Ratna De (Nag) (Trinamool) and Konakalla Narayan Rao (TDP).
The Chairpersons assist the Speaker in the smooth conduct of the House.
At a press conference soon after assuming office on Friday, Mahajan had indicated that a Deputy Speaker may not be in place during the current short session of Parliament saying hardly there was any time left.
