Sunanda Pushkar had no serious health condition: Hospital

Union Minister Shashi Tharoor and his wife Sunanda Pushkar reportedly had a bitter fight a day before she was found dead in a luxurious hotel in New Delhi.

New Delhi: Union Minister Shashi Tharoor and his wife Sunanda Pushkar reportedly had a bitter fight a day before she was found dead in a luxurious hotel in New Delhi.

The news reports state that 52-year-old Sunanda had checked herself into the hotel alone on the night of January 15 and Tharoor joined her a day later.

Sources have revealed that the couple was fighting on the flight and Information and Broadcasting Minister Manish Tiwari had tried to pacify them.
Pushkar`s death under mysterious circumstances took place a day after tweets suggesting Tharoor`s extra-marital with a Pakistani journalist went on Twitter. Soon after, Tharoor and Pushkar declared that they were “happily married”.

Doctors at Kerala Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS) hospital had said that she was not suffering from any serious health condition.

Police will be questioning Tharoor over the death of the Pushkar on Monday. Tharoor had asked for two days time for questioning.

Meanwhile, the post-mortem report can be expected in the next two to three days, doctors have said.
The autopsy report of Pushkar`s was performed in the AIIMS and the doctors said that she had died a “sudden and unnatural” death and had injury marks on the body.

The cremation of Pushkar took place at the Lodhi Road crematorium on Saturday and her son Shiv Menon performed the last rites.

Wearing a white kurta-pyjama, a grieving Tharoor carried out the last rites of his wife.

He was admitted to AIIMS barely few hours after Pushkar`s death complaining of chest pain.
