New Delhi: The nation Wednesday remembered former prime minister Rajiv Gandhi on his 23rd death anniversary.
President Pranab Mukherjee and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh along with the late leader`s wife, Congress president Sonia Gandhi paid floral tributes to the departed leader at his memorial here.
Rajiv Gandhi`s son Rahul Gandhi, daughter Priyanka and son-in-law Robert Vadra were also present on the occasion.
A number of children also offered floral tributes at the memorial.
Rajiv Gandhi was assassinated May 21, 1991 in Tamil Nadu`s Sriperumbudur by Tamil Tigers while campaigning during the general election.
