Narendra Modi`s Cabinet expansion before Budget session?

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will undertake the first Cabinet expansion before the first week of July when the Budget Session of Parliament is likely to be scheduled, said a report on Wednesday.

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will undertake the first Cabinet expansion before the first week of July when the Budget Session of Parliament is likely to be scheduled, said a report on Wednesday.

According to the report in a newspaper, Modi will induct ministers to deal with significant portfolios of defence, law and justice, and environment and forests.

Currently, these portfolios have been allotted as additional charges to Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, Telecom Minister Ravishankar Prasad, and Information and Broadcasting Minister Prakash Javadekar, respectively.
Arun Jaitley, who has also got the portfolio of corporate affairs in Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government, on Tuesday said there will be cabinet expansion soon.

Talking to reporters after taking charge as the Finance Minister at North Block here, Jaitley said he holds defence portfolio only as an additional charge and it would go to a new person once there is a Cabinet expansion.
