Jabalpur: Prime Minister Manmohan Singh said on Sunday that he had full faith that the people would not vote for a party which endorses divisiveness.
Speaking at rally here, the PM said that Sardar Patel had banned the organistaion from which BJP derives its ideology for indulging in communalism. To the crowd he said, "I have full faith that you will not vote for a party that endorses divisiveness."
He further said, "BJP has begun praising senior Congress leaders. They should also learn something from these leaders too."
The PM also accused senior leaders of the BJP for twisting history and blamed the main opposition for resorting to falsehoods for political gains.
In an apparent attack on BJP`s prime ministerial candidate for 2014 General Elections, the PM said, "A big BJP leader frequently distorts historical facts and once in his enthusiasm to attack Congress, he misrepresented facts about a leader who is respected a lot in BJP."
Going further, he said that political parties should indulge in constructive work, rather than resorting to personal attacks. "We are seeing a lot of negative politics in the last few months and the standard of political debate has gone down."
The PM exhorted the people of Madhya Pradesh to defeat Shivraj Singh Chouhan government and blamed the BJP government in the state of failing on the developmental front.
Chouhan is aiming to lead the BJP to power for a third time in MP.
