Mulayam attacks Modi, asks people to defeat `orchestrator of Gujarat riots`

Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav urged the people to defeat "communal forces" in coming Lok Sabha elections and shatter the "pride" of BJP`s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi.

Badaun: Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav on Friday urged the people to defeat "communal forces" in coming Lok Sabha elections and shatter the "pride" of BJP`s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi.
"Till you people are with me, Modi cannot harm us (party`s poll prospects)," he said addressing a rally here.

"In elections when there would be fight between Mulayam and Modi, the latter would taste defeat," the SP leader said.

Yadav targeted Modi on Gujarat riots saying "Everywhere there is discussion on Modi. Who is this Modi?..He is the same person, who orchestrated massacre in Gujarat."

The former UP chief minister said that people would teach a befitting lesson to Modi in the coming general elections and shatter his pride.

"UP has given big leaders, who represented the state at the national level...Jai Prakash Narain had shattered the pride of Congress and wiped it out earlier. Now same will happen with Modi," he said.

Yadav laid foundation of a medical college along with Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav and asked Director General, Health department to complete the construction work within a year.

Terming Congress and BJP as two sides of the same coin, Yadav said it was worth noticing how both parties united on issues like Lokpal.

"Only I protested against Lokpal. Officers will be afraid to sign files due to Lokpal`s threat. It will create hurdles on development," he said.

Yadav asked people to strengthen Samajwadi Party claiming that no party could form government without its support after the general elections.

"You all have catapulted SP to power in UP, now it`s time to win Delhi", he added.

On the occasion, Yadav and CM inaugurated 34 schemes worth Rs 1,132 crore and laid foundation of projects worth over Rs 31 crore.
