`Modi for PM` campaign to gain steam as BJP meets to discuss poll strategy

To prepare the Bharatiya Janata Party`s strategy for coming Lok Sabha polls, top party leaders from across the country meet for a three-day brainstorming session from Friday.

New Delhi: To prepare the Bharatiya Janata Party`s strategy for coming Lok Sabha polls, top party leaders from across the country on Friday kicked off three-day brainstorming session.
After top party leaders attended the day-long office-bearers` meeting on Thursday, the National Executive meets at the NDMC Convention Centre today and party workers from across the country will attend the two-day National Council meeting at Ramlila Maidan on Saturday and Sunday.

Those who are attending include, party president Rajnath Singh, party patriarch LK Advani, Sushma Swaraj, Arun Jaitley, Murli Manohar Joshi, M Venkaiah Naidu, Nitin Gadkari, Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Vasundhara Raje, Raman Singh and Manohar Parrikar.

The party will finalise its programmes for reaching out to the electorate through "One Vote, One Note" and "Mission 272+" campaign, besides the "Modi-for-PM Fund" which will be both online and offline. 

The party will also give final shape to its door-to-door campaign and for reaching out to villages, besides state-wise strategies ahead of the general elections.

Talking on the sidelines of the party office-bearers meeting on Thursday, party spokesperson Sudhanshu Trivedi said that while BJP leader Sushma Swaraj will present the political resolution highlighting the scams and corruption, besides indecision and policy paralysis in the government, Arun Jaitley will present the economic resolution that will highlight the current economic situation due to the "misgovernance" of the UPA and will present BJP`s vision. 

Trivedi said the three-day national executive and council meetings will discuss issues relating to social, political, economic, national security and internal security. 

The Council Meeting will begin with the speech of BJP president Rajnath Singh, followed by speeches by party veteran LK Advani and BJP`s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi.

Leaders of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha Sushma Swaraj and Arun Jaitley besides former party presidents Murli Manohar Joshi, M Venkaiah Naidu and Nitin Gadkari will also put forth their views. 

Chief ministers of BJP-ruled states - Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Vasundhra Raje Scindia, Raman Singh and Manohar Parrikar - will also be present. All office-bearers at the national and state level, besides MPs, MLAs and MLCs and district presidents and general secretaries, mayors and deputy mayors as also incharge of all Lok Sabha constituencies will also be present.
The party will bring two resolutions - a political and an economic and an assessment of Congress-led UPA government`s performance.

Sources said while the political resolution will focus on the "misgovernance" under UPA government hit by a series of scams and present itself as a strong alternative to the Congress at the Centre. It will also focus on neighbouring countries, foreign policy, internal security and corruption.

The economic resolution will focus on the "poor" state of the economy under UPA which has "hampered" growth and investment in the country.

While highlighting the "bad" policies and inflation under UPA that harmed the business community, farmers and the labour class, BJP will put forth its own vision to help India emerge as an economic power and restart the investment and growth cycle.
