Lt Gen Subrata Saha takes over as GOC

Lieutenant General Subrata Saha Thursday took over as the General Officer Commanding of Army`s strategic Chinar Corps which is responsible for guarding the Line of Control in Kashmir.

Srinagar: Lieutenant General Subrata Saha Thursday took over as the General Officer Commanding of Army`s strategic Chinar Corps which is responsible for guarding the Line of Control in Kashmir.

Lt Gen Saha takes over from Lt Gen Gurmit Singh, who will now go to Army Headquarters in Delhi for his next assignment, a defence spokesman said.

"Lt Gen Singh handed over the reins of Chinar Corps to Lt Gen Saha who has earlier commanded a brigade in the valley and is a very experienced General Officer," the spokesman said.

Lt Gen Saha was earlier the Chief of Staff at newly created Strike Corps based in Panagarh near Kolkata and has also served as a Birgade Commander in Farkian in Kupwara district of the Valley.
