New Delhi: Post the Lok Sabha poll debacle, criticism is mounting within the Congress of Rahul Gandhi`s “advisors” for the way they carried out the election campaign.

Like always, no one has so far pointed fingers at either Rahul Gandhi or his mother Sonia Gandhi, the party chief, for the Congress` worst drubbing in General Elections.

However, it appears that those lashing out at “advisors” of Rahul Gandhi are actually targeting the party vice-president.

Among the leaders who mustered the `courage` to speak up was ex-Mumbai MP Milind Deora. He Wednesday claimed that Rahul`s advisors were cut off from ground realities.
A day later, on Thursday, a number of leaders joined the “criticise Rahul`s advisors” bandwagon.

Among them - Raj Babbar, Satyavrat Chaturvedi and Priya Dutt. They blamed Rahul`s team for being inexperienced in terms of electoral experience, and demanded bigger role for those who were chosen by the people, a leading English daily reported on Friday.

Close aide Jyotiraditya Scindia did not comment on Rahul`s team but made it clear that the party had failed to connect with people this time. Scindia said communication was lacking between the party and the people. Interestingly, this department was handled by Rahul`s team.

"The party will have to introspect and project a new leadership at the Centre and in the states," he reportedly said, mincing no words.

Deora too sought to implicate Rahul without naming him, and said that "those who received the advice" should be held accountable too.

As per sources, while Congress leaders have chosen not to directly blame Rahul in public, they have been saying in private that the scion lacks political acumen to lead the party.
And who can replace him? None other than his sister Priyanka Gandhi, they say.
