India was different: Khar on 2011 visit to India

New Delhi: Former Pakistan Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar on Wednesday said her first visit to India in 2011 was a "different" experience and she was "not deterred" by statements made about her style.

"This is a natural process. Your vision has to be clear and I was not deterred by statements. One shouldn`t get overwhelmed by such statements," Khar said when she was asked how she coped with media reports that spoke about her style and accessories that she carried.

India was different, she said, as she compared her media coverage here to that in her country.

Khar, who came here as the then Foreign Minister, said such comments and statements are "a part of package" and her over 12 years of experience in public and political life has taught her to easily take on against such stereotypes.

"Our High Commissioner to India Salman Bashir, before my arrival in India, told me `just be yourself`. I am happy I did not contribute to the animosity at least," she said at the `Agenda-Aajtak` conclave here.

Khar also said that recent news reports about Indian films being banned in Pakistan were subject of "court procedures".
