New Delhi: The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has advised all private channels to carry sign language interpretation of the flag-hoisting ceremony and commentary of the Independence Day celebrations on Friday.
This would enable people with hearing impairment to witness the telecast of Independence Day ceremony, the advisory issued by MIB said.
The feed, comprising sign language interpretation for the flag hoisting ceremony, will be available live on DD News channel and all channels can avail the feed free of cost.
The Ministry had received requests from members of the civil society to facilitate access to people with hearing impairment to the telecast of the flag-hoisting ceremony and commentary so such citizens could also join in the Independence Day celebrations.
