Chandigarh: Indian Institute of Information
Technology (IIIT) and Indian Institute of Food Technology
Entrepreneurship and Management (IIFTEM) will soon come up in
Sonipat, on the outskirts of the national capital.
The IIIT will be set up at village Kilrod while IIFTEM
will come up at Kundli, an official spokesman said today.
He said establishment of National Institute of Fashion
Technology in Haryana was under consideration by the Centre.
He said the Centre had also approved establishment of
Indian Institute of Management (IIM) at village Sunaria and
classes had started in the temporary campus at Maharshi
Dayanand University Rohtak.
50 admissions had taken place in 2010-11 and 125 in
2011-12, he said.
Four state-of-the-art institutes - State Institute of
Fashion and Design, State Institute of Film and Television,
State Institute of Fine Arts and State Institute of
Communication - were also established at Rohtak and admissions
to these institutes have been made in the current session.
Seven polytechnics were also being set up in the state, he
added.
