New Delhi: The NDA government on Wednesday said that it will call an all-party meet to resolve the row over UPSC exam.
An indication to this effect was given by Union Environment Minister Prakash Javadekar, who said that the scheduled preliminary exam of UPSC on August 24 should be allowed to go on with the changes already announced by the government earlier this week.
The government had announced on Monday that marks for English language comprehension skills will not be included in preparing the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) merit list.
The announcement had, however, failed to satisfy civil services aspirants who have shifted their protest to Jantar Mantar in central Delhi.
The aspirants are demanding that the Civil Services Aptitude Test (CSAT) be scrapped altogether, as it discriminates against students from Hindi and humanities background.
The aspirants are also demanding that the prelim examination date be deferred.
The issue continued to rock Parliament on Wednesday as well, with MPs from the Left, SP and BSP staging a walkout from Rajya Sabha opposing the government`s stand on UPSC exam.
On Tuesday too, both the Houses had witnessed uproar and adjournments over the issue.
