Fresh Chinese incursion into Indian territory in Ladakh

New Delhi: There are reports of a fresh Chinese incursion into the Indian territory in Ladakh.

As per a report in a leading English daily, Chinese troops entered the Indian side of the Pangong lake in eastern Ladakh earlier this week.
According to government sources, PLA troops in five high-speed boats came nearly six kilometres inside the Indian portion of the lake on June 24. They retreated after more than two hours, on being challenged by the Indian troops.

The Pangong lake continues to remain a matter of dispute between the two neighbours.

A major pat of the saltwater lake is under Chinese control in the Autonomous Region of Tibet.
