New Delhi: Welcoming former Army chief VK Singh`s decision to join the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) ahead of the upcoming General Elections, yoga guru Baba Ramdev on Friday said that involvement of such people is important for `çlean politics`.

“VK Singh jaise logo ka rajneeti mai aana achi baat hai, rajneeti ko svach karne ke liye, (I welcome VK Singh`s move, for clean politics involvement of such people is important),” Ramdev said.
General VK Singh, who was engaged in a long-drawn battle with the ruling UPA government over his age issue is likely to join BJP tomorrow.

Speculations have been rife about VK Singh joining the BJP for quite some time now.

Reports pertaining to the same had gathered steam when he addressed an ex-servicemen`s rally in Haryana`s Rewari on September 15 last year along with Gujarat Chief Minister and BJP`s PM candidate for 2014 polls Narendra Modi. This was Modi`s first rally after being named as the face of his party.
However, Singh had refused to confirm his plans to join the BJP stating that he was busy assisting social activist Anna Hazare in his movement.

It is, however, not yet clear whether BJP would field him in the Lok Sabha elections.
