Efforts on to get back mortal remains of Solomon Daniel: Govt

Government is making all attempts to ensure that the mortal remains of Solomon Daniel, who died in a blast in strife-torn Libya, are brought back, Sushma Swaraj told the Rajya Sabha.

New Delhi: Government is making all attempts to ensure that the mortal remains of Solomon Daniel, who died in a blast in strife-torn Libya, are brought back, External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj told the Rajya Sabha on Monday.

During a discussion on the situation in Iraq, she told the members that Daniel, who belonged to Kerala, had died in an explosion. She said attempts were being made to bring back Solomon`s body at the earliest.
Swaraj also told members that the government is focussing on getting Indians back from Libya and had spoken to Kerala Chief Minister Oomen Chandy in this regard.
She said attempts were being made for the release of a kidnapped Indian, Prem Kumar, from Afghanistan.
