CPI-M will ensure a third front at Centre: Karat

Lucknow, Jan 22: The CPI-M will ensure the defeat of
"communal" BJP and "undemocratic" Congress, and facilitate a
third front to come to power after the general elections, its
general secretary Prakash Karat has said.

Addressing the inaugural session of party state committee
meeting yesterday, Karat said, "the history of 2004 elections
will not be repeated and efforts will be made to bring
together non-BJP and non-Congress forces to power on the basis
of alternative policies."

The party is already in consultation with secular and
democratic forces for the same.

State Secretary S P Kashyap said a campaign would be
launched next month to sensitise people on policies of both
the UPA and the NDA.
