New Delhi: Once again hitting out at the ruling Congress party ahead of the Lok Sabha polls, Bharatiya Janata Party`s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi on Friday said that the country was fed-up of the UPA rule and that the people would not be able to tolerate them for long.

Addressing a lawyers` event in the national capital, the Gujarat chief minister said, “Country is fed- up of this Government. They cannot tolerate this for long.”
“What will people of this country do if the lawyer community becomes tainted?,” asked Modi while quoting examples of some criminal cases in which lawyers took bribe to protect the accused.

“Need to give importance to Human Resource Development. Just being a Law graduate is not enough,” he added.

Quoting the importance of the profession of a lawyer, Modi said, “All our foremost leaders during the freedom struggle were from this profession (lawyers). We are a democracy and there is trust in our judiciary.”
He also said that India was a democracy and that people had trust in the judicial system of the country.

"We are a democracy and there is trust in our judiciary. Yes, there are problems and issues of delayed justice, but still the world admires our system," he said.

"Also, it is extremely crucial to give importance to Human Resource Development in the country, just being a Law graduate is not enough," he added.

One of the lawyers present in the meet praised and appreciated Modi`s presence in the meeting, as per ANI.

"Not only we advocates, the entire country knows it very well that you`ll become next Prime Minister. You are the first politician who came to attend this meet and listen to the grievances of the lawyers," he said.
