Making a special mention on labour laws in the Upper House, AU Singh Deo (BJD) said there is a need to bring reforms in labour laws so as to provide ample facilities.

Congress member P Bhattacharya emphasised the need to consult stakeholders before amending labour laws.
Last week, the Cabinet had cleared 54 amendments to the Factories? Act, 1948, changes to the Apprenticeship Act, 1961 and the Labour Laws (Exemption from Furnishing Returns and Maintaining Registers by Certain Establishments) Act, 1988.

Through a special mention, Saif-ud-Din Soz (Cong) brought to the notice of the House that there was a need for proper implementation of the Prime Minister`s Scholarship Scheme for students in Jammu and Kashmir.
Shantaram Naik (Cong) demanded the government bring legislation on time-bound delivery of goods and services and redressal of public grievances.
