Delhiites experienced a pleasant and sunny day today as minimum temperature dipped few notches below normal to settle at 4.6 degree Celsius and the maximum temperature was recorded at 20 degree Celsius, which is normal for this time of the year.

Biting cold wave conditions had most places in Punjab and Haryana under its grip, with Narnaul shivering at 2.5 degree Celsius and minimum temperatures further dropped since yesterday, the MeT Department here said.
While Ambala and Bhiwani experienced a cold night recording respective below normal minimums of 6.4 deg C and 7.2 deg C, Amritsar in Punjab had a cold night at 5.7 deg C.

In Kashmir Valley and Ladakh region, temperatures dropped as cold conditions intensified, even as Kargil recorded the coldest night of the season with mercury plummeting to more than 22 degrees below the freezing point.

Srinagar, the summer capital of the state recorded a low of minus 1.1 degrees Celsius last night, down from 0.4 degree Celsius the previous night.

Night temperatures further dipped in parts of Rajasthan with the mercury settling at zero degree Celsius in Mount Abu.

Churu recorded a minimum of 4.5 degrees Celsius whereas Udaipur, Sriganganagar, Bikaner, Jaipur, Ajmer and Barmer recorded minimum of 6.3, 6.5, 7, 7.1, 8 and 8.1 degrees Celsius, according to a MeT report here.
Weather continued to remain mainly dry in several districts in Uttar Pradesh in the past 24 hours, where temperatures appreciably fell in Gorakhpur, Varanasi, Lucknow, Agra, Kanpur divisions, fell in Bareilly divisions and changed little in the remaining divisions of the state.

The lowest minimum temperature in the state was 3.0 deg Celsius recorded at Nazibabad.
