Chennai: The National Security Guard’s Bomb Detection & Disposal Squad , Friday, inspected the two coaches of Bangalore-Guwahati Express in which two blast took place yesterday that left one dead and 14 others injured.
The NSG`s bomb data centre is mandated by an Act to collect forensic evidence of all explosions in the country.
The NSG team also held discussions with top police officials of the state on the incident, reports said.
The other central probe agency, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) is only assisting in the probe as the Tamil Nadu government had decided to trust the CB-CID department of Tamil Nadu with the probe.
Meanwhile, the Tamil Nadu special investigative wing probing the blasts rushed a team to Bangalore today to pursue the new leads it stumbled on.
Reports said that investigators suspect that the explosives could have been planted at Bangalore and the perpetrators could have got support from sleeper modules working in Karnataka.
News agency PTI quoted an official that information so far collated by it suggest that the bomb fitted with a timer devise could have been planted at Bangalore.
The train, which left Bangalore on April 30 at about 11:35 pm, arrived here yesterday by 7.10 AM and was delayed by about an hour. Ten minutes after its arrival, two low-intensity bombs exploded in quick succession, killing a woman techie and injuring 14 others.
