New Delhi: Concerned over one more of its
draft reports after the 2G spectrum scam finding its way to
the media, Congress on Monday said the CAG needed to look into
the issue of leakage of its documents.
"The CAG should look at this issue seriously," party
spokesman Manish Tewari told reporters.
His remarks came in the wake of a latest draft report of
the CAG which has rapped oil ministry and its technical arm,
the Directorate Genergal of Hydrocarbons (DGH), for allegedly
favouring Reliance Industries (RIL) by allowing it to double
KG-D6 gas field`s cost, a charge vehemently denied the by
Mukesh Ambani-run firm.
To a query whether his remark meant that he was targeting
the CAG for the leak, Tewari said he was not making any
suggestion, but those concerned would take the hint.
He said there must be some intention behind these leakages
that take place before the process towards the CAG end is
complete.
The CAG in its draft audit report of KG-D6 block said the
ministry and the DGH also bent the rules to grant "huge
benefits" to Reliance when it was allowed to retain entire
block, but said gains cannot be quantified.
