Border bonhomie on I-Day: Pak Rangers gift sweets

Continuing with the tradition, Pakistan`s border guarding force on Saturday presented sweets to their Indian counterpart at the Wagah border in Amritsar.

Attari (Amritsar): Continuing with the
tradition, Pakistan`s border guarding force on Saturday presented
sweets to their Indian counterpart at the Wagah border in Amritsar.

Border Security Force (BSF) Deputy Inspector General
Mohammad Aquil received the gift from Pakistan Ranger Major
General Mohhammad Yakoob Khan at Attari joint check post.

The traditional Pakistani sweets from Lahore and Karachi
were presented in a tastefully decorated basket, officials
said.

Yesterday on Pakistan`s Independence Day, the BSF had
gifted baskets of sweets to them.

The exchange of gifts between the forces of the two
neighbouring nations is a long-standing tradition to mark their
respective anniversaries of Independence Day.

The check post here was nicely decorated on the occasion
of the country`s 63nd Independence Day.

"This morning there was great enthusiasm between the
border forces of the two nations. BSF officials and Pakistan
Rangers were today seen in a relaxed mood. Both shook hands
and exchanged pleasantries with smiling faces to mark the
occasion," a BSF official said.
