New Delhi: BJP veteran Lal Krishna Advani faced another humiliation on Thursday when the plaque bearing his name outside the room of the NDA Working Chairman was found removed.

During lunch break today, on the second day of the Parliament session, when Advani reached his office he found the plaque missing. The room had been allotted to Advani in the 15th Lok Sabha, as acting chairman of the National Democratic Alliance.

There used to be two name-plates outside the room – one with the name of Advani and the other with the name of former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. The latter`s nameplate remains mounted on the wall.
Meanwhile, Advani, 86, then had to sit in the BJP`s parliamentary party office during the lunch break today. The BJP leader sat in the room allotted to the party`s deputy leader.

The post of deputy leader in previous Lok Sabha was held by Gopinath Munde, who died following a car accident on Tuesday. The BJP`s deputy leader in the Rajya Sabha was Ravi Shankar Prasad, who has now become a Union Minister.

The development underscores the change going on in the BJP.

By winning the Lok Sabha polls and subsequently becoming the prime minister, Narendra Modi has virtually become the BJP`s top leader.
Advani had already been sidelined within the party when he neither was allotted any post in the Modi Cabinet nor his desire to be made the Lok Sabha Speaker was fulfilled.
