Bhutan PM, B`desh speaker arrive for Modi`s swearing-in ceremony

Prime Minister of Bhutan Lyonchen Tshering Tobgay and Bangladesh Speaker Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury arrived here on Sunday to attend the swearing-in ceremony of Prime Minister-elect Narendra Modi tomorrow.

New Delhi: Prime Minister of Bhutan Lyonchen Tshering Tobgay and Bangladesh Speaker Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury arrived here on Sunday to attend the swearing-in ceremony of Prime Minister-elect Narendra Modi tomorrow.

This is the first time that the heads of state and government of SAARC nations have been invited to attend the swearing-in ceremony of an Indian Prime Minister.
Bangladesh will be represented by Chaudhury as Premier Sheikh Hasina would be travelling to Japan at the time of the swearing-in ceremony.

Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, Sri Lanka President Mahinda Rajapaksa, Afghanistan President Hamid Karzai, Nepal Prime Minister Sushil Koirala and Maldivian President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom will be among the foreign dignitaries attending the ceremony at Rashtrapati Bhawan.
