Wardha, Maharashtra: Mahatma Gandhi’s spectacles exhibited in the Sevagram Ashram here have gone missing, reports claimed Monday.

The incident reportedly took place in February 2011 but only came to light yesterday.

What’s intriguing is that the ashram authorities have not yet filed a complaint with the police over the disappearance of the 70-year-old personal glasses of Bapu.

Reports suggested that the authorities are searching for the precious item in the ashram as the possibility of it being misplaced somewhere within the ashram is not being discounted at the moment.

Sevagram Ashram was established by Mahatma Gandhi in 1933- he spent 12 years of his life here.

More details are awaited.
