Bajrang Dal to agitate against minority sub-quota

Bajrang Dal today announced it would launch a nation-wide agitation demanding withdrawal of the decision of minority sub-quota within OBC reservation.

Bhubaneswar: Dubbing the move to give 4.5
per cent share to minorities in 27 per cent OBC reservation as
a violation of the Constitution, Bajrang Dal today announced
it would launch a nation-wide agitation demanding immediate
withdrawal of the decision.

"For cheap electoral politics, the Centre has decided
to provide 4.5 per cent quota to minorities within 27 per cent
OBC reservation. The move is a blatant violation of the
Constitution," National Convenor of Bajrang Dal, Subhash
Chouhan told reporters here.

Describing the move as a tool to snatch away the
democratic rights of the majority community, he said Bajrang
Dal would launch a country-wide agitation demanding immediate
roll-back of the decision to protect the interest of Hindus in
getting jobs and education.

Stating that Indian Constitution does not permit
religion-based reservation, Chouhan said the move to provide
sub-quota for minorities is aimed at appeasing the community
for vote bank politics.
