Revealed: Who gave first clue to police about Indrani Mukerjea and Sheena Bora murder

Mumbai: While the Sheena Bora murder continues to create headlines in the national media, it has now emerged that the disgraced media tycoon Indrani Mukerjea's former driver Shyamvar Rai's drunken grumbling before an auto driver-cum-police informant had provided the first clue to the local police about the teenager's murder.

As per a report published in the 'Times Of India' on Saturday, Indrani's former driver Shyamvar Rai had, in a drunken state, disclosed before an auto driver-cum-police informant bout how a very rich woman killed her daughter and paid peanuts to him to keep mum.

The informant then passed on the murder details to a Khar inspector, Dinesh Kadam, who picked up Rai for questioning on August 21, following which he confessed to the murder.

On the basis of information provided by Rai, the Mumbai Police managed to connect all missing links in the killing and nail Indrani in the case. The local police also thought of making Rai an approver, however, before they could record his statement the case was transferred to the CBI.

Former media executive Indrani Mukerjea and her ex-husband Sanjeev Khanna had killed Sheena Bora in a moving car with help of Rai. The three disposed of the body at Raigad-Pen in April 2012. Afterwards, Indrani flew to London and asked Rai to leave the job. She paid him Rs 5 lakh to remain tight-lipped about the crime.
