Nashik experiences cold wave; mercury dips to 6.9

Nashik: The residents of Nashik have been facing chilly winds during the past 24 hours as the early morning temperature today dipped in the city to 6.9 degree celsius, according to local meteorological office.

People set up bonfires at various places to beat the cold and grape-growers were taking precautions to protect their crop, which is now ready for harvesting.

According to Met sources, the city recorded the lowest 6.5 degree celsius temperature on December 15 last month and it dipped in 4-5 deg cel bracket in the district`s Niphad tehsil town.
