Thrissur: The Kerala Police have registered a case of murder and booked three men after a 50-year-old man died while confronting his daughter's eve-teasers in Paloor here.

The incident happened on Wednesday when Varanadu Ramesh was returning to his home on his scooter with his teen daughter and son riding pillion and passed the three men sitting on a wall.

When the three whistled at his daughter, Ramesh did not stop his scooter and brought his daughter (17) and son (16) home at around 9.45 pm.

However, an enraged Ramesh soon proceeded to confront the three men telling his children, "I'll be back".

While the children tried to stop their father sensing what he was upto, Ramesh did not stop.

Ramesh later reached the spot where his daughter was catcalled and confronted the three men.

During the fight with the accused, Ramesh reportedly collapsed and died of a heart attack.

As per his brother, Ramesh had suffered a mild attack some years back as well.

A medical report said when Ramesh died, he had 80 percent blockages in his heart.

While the death has been attributed to cardiac failure, the police registered a case of murder and would proceed with the line of investigation that Ramesh was provoked and that pressure and panic during the fight could have triggered heart attack.
