Ranchi: In a shocking incident, a 25-year old woman was kidnapped and gang-raped by five youths at Madhupur railway station in Jharkhand on Friday night.
A report published in ABP news said the shameful incident happened when the woman was sleeping with her father in Giridih-bound passenger train. Notably, the passenger rail waits for 3 hours at the station before leaving.
The father and her daughter reached Madhupur railway station by Ranchi-Baidyanathdham Express at 9 pm and were waiting at the station to catch their next train scheduled at 3 am.
While they were sleeping on the stationary train, the five youths kidnapped the girl so swiftly that the sleeping father didn't even hear anything.
When the father later woke up, he saw his daughter missing. He immediately informed the GRP personnel.
Acting immediately on his complaint, Madhupur GRP officer-in-charge Arjun Tiwari sent his men to look out for the missing lady.
The GRP officer-in-charge caught hold of one youth Anil Kumar Sao, who denied any involvement in the crime, but confirmed the 25-year-old was gang-raped.
When the officer interrogated him, Sao informed the police about the whereabouts of the woman. The personnel then arrested Pawan Kumar Harijan, who claimed that Sao was equally involved in the crime.
Both the accused took the officials to a secluded spot near the station where the woman was found.
Third accused Mithu Yadav was caught from the crime scene. However, the two others managed to flee away.
The victim was then taken to a hospital for medical treatment.
