Srinagar: Expressing grief over the loss of lives in ceasefire violations along the international border, hardline Hurriyat Conference chairman Syed Ali Shah Geelani today said small skirmishes can lead to a war between India and Pakistan in which no country will be a winner.

"These minor border disputes can any time lead to a full-fledged war and this war will bring an ultimate destruction for both the nations and no one is going to win the war," Geelani said in a statement.

The Hurriyat leader expressed sorrow and concern over the loss of precious human lives due to the ceasefire violations along the Line of Control.
Criticising the central government for cancelling the foreign secretary level talks with Pakistan, Geelani said this was "a non-intellectual and non-diplomatic decision which has harmed the peace process".
Geelani asked how India can afford to close the doors for dialogue with Pakistan as both the countries share thousands of miles long borders with each other where skirmishes keep on taking place.
