No timeline set for BJP-PDP government formation in J&K: Ram Madhav

New Delhi, Feb: BJP general secretary Ram Madhav on Thursday said that no timeline has been set with the People`s Democratic Party for forming a new government in the state of Jammu and Kashmir, and added that he was hopeful of the alliance staying the course and continuing with the arrangements agreed upon by former chief minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed.

"We have not set any timeline for government formation. We are keen that we should take forward the arrangement left behind by Mufti Sahab. Both sides are positive, I hope there will be continuation of the previous arrangement," Madhav told media here after a meeting with PDP president Mehbooba Mufti in Srinagar on Wednesday.

"Whatever our stand is on the Common Minimum Programme would continue till we are together in government. There will be no dilution of the Common Minimum Programme, nor any new addition. It is a very comprehensive document for the development and good governance of Jammu and Kashmir," he added.

He further dismissed the reports which claimed Centre was ready to compromise on AFPSA, saying there will be no dilution of the Common Minimum Programme.

Madhav and Mehbooba met for the first formal talks on government formation in Jammu and Kashmir. The state has been under Governor`s Rule for over a month.
