Jammu: Former chief minister Omar Abdullah met Jammu and Kashmir Governor NN Vohra over the continuing deadlock over government formation in the state.
Briefing reporters after the meeting, Abdullah said, “Since two and half months J&K is waiting for a government. For God's sake decided yes or no.” The National Conference leader was referring to the deadlock in talks between the PDP and the BJP.
Rejecting suggestions that NC should take a lead to try and form the next government in the state, Abdullah said, “Please don't look towards us for an alternative. I am also not in favour of horse trading.”
“If BJP and PDP don't come together and after that if PDP doesn't take the support of the Congress then the Governor should dissolve the assembly,” he said.
Interestingly, Abdullah's meeting with the Governor comes on a day when Mehbooba Mufti is in Delhi, amid indications that channels of communication have once again being opened between the PDP and the BJP.
