Sheena Bora was strangled to death, confirms AIIMS medical report

Mumbai: An evidence that can be a crucial lead for the investigating agencies in Sheena Bora murder case, the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) has confirmed she died due to strangulation, a report claimed on Thursday.

According to a Hindustan Times report, in the final report submitted to CBI by experts from AIIMS' board of forensic medicines, 'strangulation' has been reportedly cited as the cause of Sheena's death.

“The cause of death has been confirmed as strangulation by the board,” a hospital source was quoted as saying by HT.

The remains of Sheena Bora were handed over to the AIIMS forensic department by the CBI in October to conduct autopsy.

The team headed by Dr Sudhir Gupta has ruled out head injury as the cause of her death as there was no head fracture. The team has also ruled out the possibility of firearm injury, claims the source.

As per initial reports in the case, Sheena Bora was allegedly killed in a car and her body was burnt and dumped in the forest to destroy all evidences.

Her mother Indrani Mukerjea, Indrani's ex-husband Sanjeev Khanna, driver Shyamvar Rai and media honcho Peter Mukerjea are in police custody.
