'Sharif badmashes' of Pakistan should understand unfinished agenda of India's partition: Tewari

Congress leader Manish Tewari on Thursday took a jibe at Pakistan Army Chief General Raheel Sharif over his 'Pakistan and Kashmir are inseparable' remark, saying the 'sharif badmashes' of Islamabad should understand that the only unfinished agenda of India's partition is the reclaim of land illegally occupied by Pakistan in Kashmir.

New Delhi: Congress leader Manish Tewari on Thursday took a jibe at Pakistan Army Chief General Raheel Sharif over his 'Pakistan and Kashmir are inseparable' remark, saying the 'sharif badmashes' of Islamabad should understand that the only unfinished agenda of India's partition is the reclaim of land illegally occupied by Pakistan in Kashmir.

"The 'sharif badmashes' of Pakistan should understand that the only unfinished agenda of India's partition is the reclaim of land illegally occupied by Pakistan in Kashmir and the land ceded by it illegally to China," Tewari told ANI here.

"In so far as plebiscite is concerned, the first condition of plebiscite was that Pakistan will withdraw its armed forces from the area which it has illegally occupied and then the next step would be taken. Pakistan never took the first step. So, therefore, for Pakistan to claim that the only unfinished business of Partition is Kashmir, is just another attempt to change the facts on the ground and try and legitimise what has been an illegal occupation of territory which was lawfully ceded to India by the erstwhile Maharaja of Jammu and Kashmir," he added.

The Dawn had earlier quoted General Sharif as saying that Pakistan and Kashmir are inseparable, and that Kashmir is 'an unfinished agenda of Partition'.

General Sharif also alleged that India was supporting terrorism to stoke 'sub-conventional conflicts' in Pakistan.
