London: The chairman of the International Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) will not chair one of its sessions next week due to "issues demanding his attention" in his home country of India, it said Saturday.
Rajendra Pachauri will not be in charge of the plenary session in Nairobi of the IPCC, a scientific body under United Nations auspices which assesses climate change.
An English newspaper reported that he had been accused of sexual harassment.
The newspaper quoted a spokesman for Pachauri as saying: "Dr Pachauri is committed to provide all assistance and cooperation to the authorities in their ongoing investigations."
