New Delhi: The Leander Paes – Rhea Pillai case has now reached murkier waters. The tennis star has reportedly lodged a police complaint with the police stating that his and his daughter's lives are under threat.
According to news reports, Paes has filed an FIR against cricketer Atul Sharma for threatening to kill him and his daughter in a family court premises in suburban Bandra. He also claimed that Sharma is in a relationship with his ex wife Rhea Pillai.
Paes also stated that he had produced some papers to prove that Sharma and Pillai were in a relationship, following which the threat was made.
Reports in a leading daily suggested that although no arrests have been made yet, the police have charged Sharma under the Indian Penal Code sections 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of peace) and 506 (ll) (criminal intimidation).
The estranged couple have been fighting a case after Pillai filed a case accusing Paes of domestic violence and harassment. The champion tennis player had earlier filed 'a guardianship petition' in the family court in Mumbai, seeking permanent custody of his daughter from Rhea Pillai.
