Lucknow: At a time when political heat is soaring over the construction of Ram Temple in Ayodhya, 'Ram Lalla' (infant Lord Rama) is braving the winter chill without sweater and quilt.

Interestingly, chief priest Satyendra Das has requested the Uttar Pradesh government to provide winter clothes and blanket for the deity.

According to a report published in 'BBC', since the Commissioner is on leave, Das has dispatched a letter to District Magistrate Anil Dhingra requesting him to arrange sweater and blanket for infant Ram.

On December 20, when judges SK Singh and TS Khan visited the premises the issue was discussed with them.

The head priest, a government appointee, believes that the arrival of stones for the construction of 'Ram Mandir' is not much of a big issue, than the way it is being projected.

Das alleged that the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) wants to give only a signal that even after death of Ashok Singhal the Ram Mandir 'Andolan' hasn't died down.

The VHP has repeatedly asserted its firmness to build a grand Ram Temple in Ayodhya. Earlier this month, two trucks of stones were unloaded at Ram Sewak Puram and Mahant Nritya Gopal Das, the president of Ram Janam Bhumi Nyas, performed ‘Shila Pujan’ of the stones.

Earlier this month, VHP leader Praveen Togadia expressed hope that Prime Minister Narendra Modi would ensure a grand Ram Mandir is built in Ayodhya as decided by the BJP national executive and promised in the Lok Sabha elections.

Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat has time and again pitched for the construction of a Ram temple at Uttar Pradesh's Ayodhya.

Meanwhile, clarifying the Bharatiya Janata Party`s (BJP) stance on the issue of Ram Mandir construction in Ayodhya, Union Minister Mahesh Sharma on Tuesday said his party and government had already given their opinion on the issue that people of the country want the temple to be constructed as soon as possible.
