New Delhi: Cogress vice president Rahul Gandhi on Friday returned to India after attending the Aspen conference in the US.

The Gandhi scion reached his residence here today morning.

The Congress vice president's latest visit to the US had led to an intense war of words between Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Congress.

In a bid to end all speculations about his whereabouts, Rahul, Monday, tweeted a picture of his attending the Aspen conference in the US.

The tweet from his official Twitter handle @OfficeOfRG read: “Very interesting discussions on the global economy & the disruptive power of tech at the conference in Aspen.”

The Congress has been insisting that Rahul Gandhi has gone to the US to attend a conference ‘Weekend with Charlie Rose’ at Aspen Institute in Colorado where thought leaders from different walks of life like politics, finance, technology, media, medicine, sports etc gather to deliberate on multiple issues.

The BJP has questioned Congress' claim that Rahul had gone to attend a prestigious "Weekend With Charlie Rose" conference.

The BJP mocked at the Congress' explanation, Party spokesperson Sambit Patra said the Congress leader was an “expert without knowledge”.

BJP has maintained that 'Weekend With Charlie Rose' was held between June 25 and July 4 claiming that Congress was "resorting to falsehood".

Taking a swipe at Congress vice president for embarking on a foreign trip when the process of Bihar polls is underway, RSS organ Panchjanya had said the "young Mr India of the old party" has abandoned the ship leaving the task of steering it to the old guard.
