Prime Minister Narendra Modi will confer the awards for excellence in public administration on the occasion of Civil Services Day on Tuesday.

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will confer the awards for excellence in public administration on the occasion of Civil Services Day on Tuesday.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will also release a book called `Best Practices - Tomorrow is Here` during the event.

The two-day programme was inaugurated by Secretary, Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances on Monday. Union Human Resources and Development (HRD) Minister Smriti Irani also chaired a session on the social sector.

The day is observed by all officers of the Centre and state governments to re-dedicate and re-commit themselves to the people.

The focus for this year will be on minimum government, maximum governance with emphasis on social sector, housing, agriculture, employment and skill development.
