Coimbatore: Taking a swipe at Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi, Union Power Minister Piyush Goyal today said he was happy the Congress Vice-President has come back with "new vigour" but cautioned that he should not end up as a guest coming to the country only to go on next vacation.

"I am happy that Rahul Gandhi has come after vacation, with new vigour. People go on a long vacation. On returning, they get into a sudden spurt of activism, which I welcome. Our Prime Minister works up to 20 hours a day, which other politicians too should follow. They should not be coming to India as a guest, only to go on a next vacation," he said.

He was responding to a mention by reporters that despite claims of several achievements by the NDA government, Congress leaders Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi were attacking the Centre accusing it of having failed to deliver and fulfil the election promises.

Goyal, who launched the Centre's three social security schemes here, rejected the criticism that people were 'unhappy' with the performance of the Narendra Modi Government and said on the whole there was a 'tremendous change' in the country.

Replying to a specific question that the people had high expectations from the Prime Minister but of late were not satisfied, he said, "Inflation has disappeared, power situation has improved. Moreover, natural resources of the Country have been given transparently."

Modi has given a 'ray of hope', he added.

Earlier, dedicating the three social security schemes, he described them as 'path-breaking and revolutionary' initiatives from Modi.

He said that these schemes were aimed at providing affordable universal access to essential social security protection in a convenient manner.
