Pakistan actively involved in cross border activities: Kiren Rijiju

Minister of State for Home Kiren Rijiju on Tuesday said Pakistan is actively taking part in the cross border activities along the International Border (IB).

New Delhi: Minister of State for Home Kiren Rijiju on Tuesday said Pakistan is actively taking part in the cross border activities along the International Border (IB).

Replying to supplementaries in the Lok Sabha, Rijuju said New Delhi has provided evidence about the frquent infiltration to Pakistan from time to time.

He also said revealed that the NDA Ggovernment is considering a proposal to increase the compensation to the kin of those killed in Pakistani firing in Jammu and Kashmir from Rs.one lakh to Rs.five lakh.

He informed the House that till July 26 this year, there have been 192 ceasefire violations by Pakistan.

The government is taking several measures to counter the ceasefire violations, including the setting up of re-inforced bunkers. The minister informed the House that ambulances are kept in readiness at convenient locations for evacuation of persons in case of emergency.

The minister gave his replies amidst slogan shouting by Congress members in the well of the House.
