Delhi: Pakistan National Security Advisor Sartaj Aziz said on Sunday that his country was not suppressing people in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) and that they were living there freely.
On the other hand he accused India of using lakhs of soldiers to suppress Kashmiris.
In an exclusive interview to CNN-IBN, Aziz said that there was no such thing as brutal crackdown on the people of PoK (the Pakistan NSA called it Azad Kashmir.)
He said that India was subjugating people of Kashmir who wanted the right of self determination.
On the video of crackdown on protesters in PoK, Aziz maintained that he had no seen the video but instead talked of a video which Pakistan would release.
He reiterated that that there was no protests against the Pakistani establishment regarding human rights violation in PoK.
In a video available with CNN-IBN, people in large numbers in PoK are seen protesting against the Pakistani establishment and demanding freedom.
The people are also heard shouting slogans of azadi (freedom).
As per reports, the people are angry at the lack of development in the region and are heard demanding jobs and other basic rights.
The protests against the Pakistani establishment were reportedly held in several areas of PoK, including Muzaffarabad, Gilgit and Kotli.
They are also heard talking about human rights violation and misbehaviour with their women.
Youths are also seen in the video saying that those who refuse to join jihad from PoK are picked up by the ISI.
The PoK residents added that India was better than the neighbouring country.
